Civil Air Patrol Looking for Volunteers

Please note that Civil Air Patrol is always looking for volunteers -- seniors as well as cadet members, including those that interested in radio communications. The best way to see if this organization would be a "fit" for your volunteer efforts, is to visit your local unit. Local unit Information can be found at: http://cap.findlocation.com/

In Western Massachusetts units are located in Chicopee (Westover Joint Air Reserve Base), Greenfield, and Westfield (Barnes Air National Guard Base).

I would assume that if there's enough people from the North Adams/Pittsfield/Great Barrington interested; a "flight" could be formed in that area. There's also some states experimenting with so called "CAP stations" that puts volunteers into a squadron BUT they don't have to come to meeting every week BUT probably once a month and/or some trainers from the unit comes out to their location. This allow CAP to have an Urban Direction Finding Team/Ground Team readily available for response in an area that is far away from the nearest squadron team.
