Westover JARB Analog UHF Radio Usage

Yesterday their was an exercise in the Dog Patch Training Area, and Pad 19 involving USMC Marine Support Squadron 472, Detachment Bravo (rapid runway repair exercise, etc), 3-126 Aviation Batallion UH60 helo medevac 2 navy doctors. What I noted was that 413.2 & 413.4 NFM analog simplex was being utilized, primarily by low powered portables with perhaps one or two simplex base stations. 413.2 is a Civil Engineering Prime Beef Team frequency and 413.4 is formerly the Aerial Port Squadron's primary frequency. The Aerial Port Squadron did also keep its' base station. I'm unsure whether these radios will meet the new narrow band standard that becomes mandatory on January lst, 2008. So monitoring will be necessary in the future, especially in 2008
