Westover JARB "Great New England Airshow Cancelled

Not surprisingly, the 439th Airlift Wing Commander, announced that the August 2007 show would be rescheduled to 2008 due to operational commitments and budget restraints.

I belive this is the fourth time since 1991 that the base has cancelled an airshow due to operational commitments. Unfortunately, the 104 FW at Barnes ANGB, is transitioning to F15's, so could not support the cancelled show this year. As many of you might remember, last year Westover ARB was schduled to have an airshow, BUT couldn't due to problems, and the MA Air National Guard at Barnes ANGB, Westfield stepped up to the plate.

Unfortunately, the trend is that many Air Mobility Command supported transport type bases, historically have cancelled airshows because of operational commitments.

Westover's cancelled show did not have any major military aero team this year, since both the Thunderbirds & Blue Angels were scheduled elsewhere.
